"A Powerful Training Tool for the Avid Surfer" - Testimonial from Alex Q
Alex is not only a gifted home-builder, he's a talented surfer. At 6'3", this guy still charges hard. He also takes his training and fitness seriously, most current and former mixed martial arts fighters do (yes, this is one tough dude).
Alex was one of our earliest demo testers. Because of his size and surf ability, we were eager to get an "O" model in his hands and secure his feedback. Having know idea how he'd respond, his text after his first paddle session is one that inspired us to press on!
"This is a powerful training tool for the avid surfer. Being a strong paddler is the difference between making it back out or getting trapped in the inside. It's the difference between taking off at the peak and getting barreled and sitting on the shoulder and shoulder hopping."
A fun and important side note. Alex knew knew he was going to be paddling at the Princess Anne Recreation center so he reached out to the aquatics director. She was skeptical without seeing it. After seeing him use the board, she agreed it was fine for him to train with it in the pool. Several of the lifeguards asked if Alex wouldn't mind leaving it permanently at the pool so they could train with his board.
A sampling of Alex’s surf destinations in addition to VA – Costa Rica (Ollie's point, Playa Grande, Avellanas, Marbella, Playa Negra), Barbados (Soup Bowls), Indonesia (Kandui Island), Mexico (Salina Crux), California (Trestles/Zippers), North Carolina (Hatteras Island)
